I just got a PowerBook G4!

For those of you who don't know, that means a MacIntosh computer. I found that Macs are kind of like cars; they lose quite a bit of their value after you first purchase it, so I bought a one-year-old model on Ebay for $1200, which contains software and hardware that would cost about $3,200 new according to my friend, who knows about such things. Anyway, I'm very excited to start using the new "Tiger" operating system and everything.

I'm glad you're so happy with your new computer ... but you know you really should have gone with Linux. *grin* Then software is free!

Linux, Hmmmmm. You're a pretty smart cookie aren't you. I don't know anything about Linux. But I know that my laptop will come (It hasn't arrived yet) with about $1500 worth of software for free. Ebay rules. Why is software free with Linux?

Oh, don't listen to the Linux stuff, Macs are great, even though I do like PC better. I build and configure my own computer, so that's why I like pc, but also because I know it better.

The whole Linux thing is that linux is built by a whole bunch of people doing it for free, and giving it for free. A lot of servers are run on Linux. It's easy to edit and program in it. It has it's advantages, but I wouldn't want to use it for personal computing.
